A family vineyard for more than two centuries

The Durand family has owned and worked this vineyard for more than two hundred years.

In the 1920's Fabienne and Andre Durand began to modernise and improve the quality of the vineyard, however in 1926 Fabienne was widowed and found herself alone with two young children to bring up.
With the help of her mother, Fabienne decided to carry on the family tradition, she renamed the chateau after her children, Jacqueline and Yves, and so the Chateau Yveline of today was born.

After completing his oenology studies, at the University of Bordeaux, Christian Durand came back to the family vineyard and has worked to respect the individuality and specificity of chateau Yveline whilst at the same time introducing new techniques and technology, no easy task. The result is a range of, hight quality, fine wines that reflect the hard work that has been put into making them.
In a period where modern winemaking techniques produce wines that are more and more alike Christian Durands' overriding principle is to safeguard the individuality of his wines. As he says "I am a winemaker, not a chemist, and I want my wines to reflect that fact".

Due to it's location, the chateau produces three different bordeaux appelations, these are Lalande de Pomerol, Montagne St Emilion and Bordeaux Superior. Each of the appelations is produced in relatively small quantities with the emphasis being placed on quality of production and not quantity. Please let us introduce these wines to you
